Frequently asked questions
Everything about booking, delivery, the cameras and your footage.
Booking and payment
-
Go to Rentals, tap Add to cart on the camera you want, pick your dates and add any extras. Then check out. It takes about two minutes and you get a confirmation email right away.
-
Yes. Send us your dates and which camera you want on WhatsApp (+599 796 9980) and we book it for you.
-
Online by card or PayPal when you book, or choose Pay later and pay at delivery. The deposit is always paid at delivery.
-
The same for both cameras: $39 per day for 1 to 2 days, then the daily rate lowers with every extra day added. $179 for 1 week. $249 for 2 weeks. The price drops automatically in the cart for the chosen time.
-
We have a small fleet, so book as soon as you know your dates, especially in high season. Last-minute bookings are fine if a camera is free; the calendar only shows available dates.
-
Yes. Add a camera, then use the + in the cart, or add the other camera model as well. The damage waiver is per camera: switch it on once in the cart, and we add $5 per day for each extra camera at delivery.
-
One day.
-
The person who books and signs the rental agreement must be 18 or older. Children can use the camera under that person's supervision.
Delivery and pickup
-
Anywhere on Bonaire: hotels, apartments, villas, dive resorts, the airport and the cruise pier. Delivery and pickup are free.
-
We agree on a time with you on WhatsApp. Usually the evening before or the morning of your first day, and pickup on your last day before you leave.
-
Yes. We meet you at the pier when you get off and pick the camera up before your ship leaves. Book for the date of your visit.
-
A quick drop-off: we hand you the kit and collect the deposit. Everything you need to know is on the laminated cards in the case. You accept the rental agreement online when you book, so there is no paperwork.
-
Just message us on WhatsApp. We are flexible where we can be.
-
Message us on WhatsApp before your last day. If the camera is free, we extend it at the same daily price.
The cameras
-
Both cameras come with a 60 m underwater housing, delivered to your hotel. Here's a quick guide:
Choose the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 if you…
want the sharpest photos and video (up to 8K) of reefs, turtles and fish
snorkel, freedive or do shallow reef dives
Choose the GoPro Hero if you…
already know and like GoPro's controls and look
mainly swim, snorkel or explore the shallows
Not sure? Pick the Insta360 Ace Pro 2. It's our most popular choice for first-time underwater filming.
Message us on WhatsApp and we'll help you decide.
-
Both cameras go to 60 m / 197 ft in the included dive housing. That is deeper than recreational diving limits.
-
Yes, all of those. On land and at the beach you can also use it without the housing if you prefer, but keep it in the housing in the water.
-
You get two batteries, which easily covers a full day of dives or snorkels. Charge both every night.
-
The USB cable is included. Use any USB phone charger or a laptop.
-
The anti-fog inserts prevent that. Close the housing in a cool, dry place, not in the sun on the beach.
-
No, touchscreens do not work in a dive housing. You do not need it: the top button starts and stops filming, the side button switches between our settings, and everything is already set up for underwater.
-
Not at the moment. Bonaire's shallow reefs are bright and the cameras handle colour well down to typical snorkel and dive depths.
Your footage
-
Choose one:
Free: download the Insta360 app or GoPro Quik and copy clips to your phone over Wi-Fi. Best done each evening.
Keep the SD card, $40: you keep the card with all your footage.
Transfer link, $20: after pickup we upload everything in full quality and send you a private download link, online for 30 days.
-
Yes, message us on WhatsApp any time before pickup.
-
We wipe the card after your rental so the next guest gets a clean card. We cannot recover anything after that, so copy what you want before pickup.
-
No. We only handle it to make your transfer link, and we delete our copy afterwards. We never post it without your permission.
-
Yes, if it is a fast microSD card (V30 or faster). We will swap it in at delivery.
Deposit, damage and the waiver
-
$250, paid at delivery in cash (USD), Revolut, Wise or Bitcoin. We return it at pickup after a quick check: cash straight away, digital within 3 business days.
-
An optional $5 per day per camera that covers accidental damage, such as drops, knocks or a cracked housing. With the waiver, your full deposit comes back after an accident. Loss and theft are not covered. Full details on How it works.
-
The repair or replacement cost is taken from your deposit. If it costs more than $250, you pay the difference, up to the replacement value of the kit.
-
Loss and theft are not covered by the waiver. You pay the replacement value of what is lost. Keep the grip handle strap on your wrist.
-
Message us on WhatsApp straight away. If it is not caused by misuse, we swap it for another camera when one is available, or refund the unused days.
Cancellation and weather
-
Full refund up to 7 days before your rental, 50% between 2 and 6 days before, no refund within 48 hours or for a no-show. One free date change up to 48 hours before.
-
Bonaire rarely has days where you cannot get in the water. If you cannot use the camera, message us: we will try to move your dates. Refunds follow the cancellation policy.
Safety and the reef
-
All of Bonaire's waters are a protected marine park. Never touch, stand on or kick coral for a shot, and do not chase or feed marine life. Divers and snorkelers also need a STINAPA nature fee tag.
-
Yes, as long as your diving comes first. Keep your buoyancy and your buddy in view. Only dive within your training.
